c.3.4.4 3d modelling

Think in three dimensions. Learn to build virtual objects in X, Y, and Z space, texturing them for realism or preparing them for physical 3D printing.
Welcome to the third dimension! 3D Modelling lets you build virtual objects that you can spin around and look at from any angle. Working in a 3D space with X, Y, and Z axes, you’ll start by combining simple shapes (primitives) like cubes and spheres to build complex models. You’ll learn to wrap 2D images around them (texturing) to make them look like wood or metal, and how to export your creations for 3D printing, turning your digital design into a real physical object you can hold.

🧐 Sorry, I looked and there is nothing to see.

This strand equips educators with the framework to guide students from manipulating simple digital blocks to the complex architectural design of photorealistic and physically accurate 3D objects. The focus is on 3D modelling as a rigorous discipline of spatial geometry, mathematical representation, and iterative manufacturing, rather than merely digital crafts. The progression ensures that every theoretical concept introduced is immediately grounded in a practical design challenge.
