c.3.6 user-centred design
Design for people, not robots. Learn to create apps that users love by building personas, sketching wireframes, and testing prototypes with real humans.
Have you ever used an app that was so confusing you just deleted it? That’s bad design. User-Centred Design (UCD) is about putting the human being first. You’ll learn to create "personas" (fictional characters like 'Busy Bob') to understand who you are building for, and "wireframes" to sketch out your app's layout before you write a single line of code. We also cover Inclusive Design, ensuring your product works for everyone, including people with disabilities, because nobody should be locked out of the digital world.
🧐 Sorry, I looked and there is nothing to see.
This strand equips educators with the framework to guide students from basic empathy-driven design choices to the rigorous, data-informed development of interactive systems. The focus is on User-Centred Design as an iterative discipline of psychological research, empathetic modelling, and critical usability testing, rather than merely making software look visually appealing. The progression ensures a strict alignment between understanding user needs and engineering accessible solutions.
